your new favoritest song ...ever

Apr 29
April means it is the four year anniversary of these mixes. Happy anniversary!
As with so many of these recent mixes, this runs the gamut from past (last spring) to present (this spring).
Among other things: a Radiohead sample, covers of Janelle Monae, James Blake and Janet Jackson, and a song I discovered on Pretty Little Liars. (“I swear, bitches - A.”.)

This mix has been around, in various forms, for so long that one of the songs is from the end of 20120 (!), and has been in flux for so long that one of these songs is just a few weeks old.
There is lots to say, but who has the time? For many of you, nothing says love like electro pop anthems and 80s-inspired dance pop. So I guess I’m saying: I love you. You can get your love here.
Let’s hope more to come. Being blocked up is no fun.

It’s a Christmas miracle (and a bourbon miracle), as this year’s mix didn’t exist a week ago. I got my hustle on, and my grind on, and now you have the 11th annual Anju Christmas mix. I hope this finds each of you fine and fabulous. Let’s all see each other more in the new year and such.
You can get your Christmas realness here.

The comments on the last one were pretty much equal: “Lovely” and “wrist-slitty”.
This is less wrist-slitty, for sure. And hopefully equally lovely.
It should be said: this mix owes a lot to the nineties, and a little bit to the eighties.
You can get it here.

This is either a Sunday morning mix, or a late night glass of wine mix. It depends on how you take your mornings or your wine, I suppose.
There’s only two new artists on this one, so embrace your old friends and welcome the new ones.
Of note: covers of Metallica, the Righteous Brothers, Brandi Carlile, George Michael and a rendition of a song from the musical film Bugsy Malone starring Jodie Foster and Scott Baio. (Truly.)
Apologies to those who were hoping for some new fun time music. Those mixes are coming, as soon as they begin to cooperate.
You can find #49 here.
